Welcome to V-WAC 2021!

Theme: Applied Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence for Automation in the 21st Century

WAC is an international non-profit technical meeting dedicated to the dissemination of latest information among all nations of the world. It has always prided itself on helping scientists and professionals from economically disadvantaged nations to the meeting to help pave the road between the North and the South. Some of the proceeds of WAC meetings go to the World Students Scholarship Fund, Inc. - a non-profit New Mexico Corporation. This corporation has already raised close to $40K for needy students. WAC has technical sponsorship by IEEE SMC.

Accepted papers will be submitted for inclusion into IEEE Xplore subject to meeting IEEE Xplore’s scope and quality requirements.

Papers will be submitted via the EDAS system. EDAS

Physical-in-person sessions: Accepted Papers are expected to be presented physically at the event venue.
Venue: WAC 2021 was originally planned to be held as WAC 2020 at the Conference Center, Taipei Tech Taipei, Taiwan. Due to ongoing covid-19 crisis, the Congress will be held virtually using EDAS. More details will be added to this website when ready.

Lifetime Achievement Keynote: 5G SA Security Framework
Abstract: The recent advent of 5G networks is driving innovation in various fields. In 2021, it is highly expected that commercial standalone 5G will be released while openning toward a telco cloud-based application convergence network without relying on the 4G core network. Obviously, without well-designed security, such 5G innovation cannot be successful. Accordingly, the 3GPP SA3 Working Group has standardized the standalone 5G security architecture by developing the 3GPP TS 33.501 technical specification entitled “Security architecture and procedures for 5G system”. This talk will introduce the 3GPP5G security architecture with focus on authencitaion, key management, privacy protection, and network slice security, followed by discussing security issues caused by fake base stations.

Paper fees (paid once per paper):
  • Publication fee: $250 per paper
  • Extra paper by the same author fee: $200 (maximum of one paper)
  • Extra page: $100 (maximum 2 extra pages per paper). Required to be paid at the time of uploading the final paper on EDAS
Participation fees (paid once per person, including authors):
  • Non-IEEE members: $100
  • IEEE members: $50
  • Students: $50
